AirconPrices.com.au ("we", "us") is an Australian quote-referral service that connects homeowners with licensed air conditioning installers. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Quote requests: your name, email address, phone number, postcode, the type of system you're interested in, your installation timeframe, and any photos you choose to upload.
- Newsletter signups: your email address and postcode.
- Site usage: standard analytics data such as pages visited, device type and approximate location, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
Why we collect it
- To refer your quote request to licensed air conditioning installers who service your area, this is the core purpose of the site.
- To let installers contact you directly by phone, SMS or email to provide the quotes you requested.
- To send you the price alerts or updates you've subscribed to.
- To improve our published price data and the operation of the site.
Who we share it with
When you submit a quote request, your details are shared with a maximum of three (3) licensed installers matched to your postcode and job type. We do not sell your details to call centres, marketing lists, or any party beyond the installers your request is referred to.
We use trusted service providers to operate the site and route enquiries (such as our customer relationship and messaging platform and website hosting providers). These providers process your information on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. Some providers may store data outside Australia; where that occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
How we make money
Our service is free for homeowners. Installers pay us a fee for the introduction, either per referred enquiry or as a subscription. This does not affect the price you are quoted, and installers cannot pay to alter the price data we publish.
Your choices and rights
- Quote requests and marketing messages are opt-in. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in the message, and ask any installer to stop contacting you directly.
- You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you.
- You may ask us to delete your information; we will do so unless we are required to retain it.

Storage and security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access and disclosure, including transport-layer encryption on all forms and access controls on our systems. We retain quote-request information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and analytics tools to understand how the site is used (for example, which cost guides are read most). You can disable cookies in your browser; the site's core features will still work.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at the address above and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
