Condition of the unit
A maintained unit gets the standard service price. Visible mould or years of skipped cleans push you into deep-clean territory, the coil has to come apart, and that's technician hours.
Number of units
The call-out is the fixed cost, so the second and third split on the same visit are much cheaper than the first. Book the whole house at once, not unit by unit.
Access
High wall units above stairwells, tight roof cavities for ducted, units on upper storeys, anything that needs ladders, platforms or crawling adds time and shows up in the price.
Service vs deep clean
Know what you're buying: a service checks and washes, a hygiene clean strips and treats. If there's a musty smell, a standard service usually won't fix it, ask for the deep clean straight up.

Filters are yours: slide out, rinse, dry, monthly in season, free. The coil, fan barrel and drains are the professional's half. Doing your half well makes the paid half cheaper and rarer.
