Condenser (outdoor unit)
The condenser is the outdoor half of a split system, the box that dumps the heat extracted from your rooms and houses the compressor, the system's most expensive component.
Where it sits matters more than most buyers realise: it needs airflow, benefits from shade, and its noise rating decides strata approvals and neighbour relations. Coastal homes should specify corrosion-protected ("blue fin") coils, salt air eats standard condensers within years. When a quote includes relocation, brackets or a cage, this unit is why.
